Fascias and soffits can be a great finishing touch to a building, giving it a unique look and a bit of an edge compared to buildings around it. They can look great but they must function correctly too by protecting the rafter ends and carrying water correctly from the roofline.

Fascias are where roofs meet the outside wall of a property. This is known as the ‘roofline’. This is a board that runs alongside the lower edge of the roof which supports the lower edge of the bottom tile row. This holds the guttering in place and prevents the entry of water ingress and animals.

Soffits are hidden away out of view underneath fascia boards. This is what you can see when looking up at a building whilst standing in the street. They usually have ventilation which allows air to come into the roof. Ventilation is important as this can prevent big problems such as timber rot from happening.

Guttering is positioned below the eave (bottom row of tiles) and this help carries the water away from the roof into the Dow pipes and drains it is important that the guttering is working properly as it can compromise the condition of your roof causing issues such as felt pounding, damp and leaks.

Forthright Roofing provides different styles of fascia boards and soffits. We have traditional wooden styles or more popular and modern UPVC versions offering more efficiency and added features such as heat shielding technology. We have everything you are looking for.

Benefits of UPVC fascias and soffits include the fact they require minimal maintenance. This means you do not need to be painting, varnishing or touching them up at all. They are cost-effective and solid, meaning they will not break apart or away from your building and will stand the test of time providing you with an up to 50yr guarantee on our systems.

One thing to bear in mind is that if choosing more traditional styles, possibly in keeping with an older style of property, will require slight maintenance on some occasions to retain their look.

If your fascias, soffits or guttering needs some attention, get in touch with us. We can repair or replace it with efficient materials to make sure it is back in great working condition.
